一生続く修行 インド亡命意識 英語学習 ラサ郊外セラ寺
yasuhiro shoguchiラサ郊外のセラ寺は８００人の僧侶が修行している。一日は朝５時、当番僧が撞木で鳴らす石磬の音で始まる。大集会殿の自席につき、般若心経から始まる勤行、午前８時、勤行の途中で各自が持参したツァンパ（麦焦がし）とバター茶の朝食を摂る。その後は学課、正午に炒飯の昼食、午後は問答、午後６時から雑炊や麺の夕食を終えて各自、自習をする。この日課で２０年以上、修行する。
ラサ出身のグシラ・ランパさんの自室を訪れた。８畳ほどの部屋、２人で寝泊まりしている。高校を卒業後、セラ寺に入学する際、「英語や中国語を勉強しなさい」と両親が贈ってくれたラジカセがあった。インド亡命を意識している僧侶たちの英語学習熱は高い。壁には花の写真が掲げられ、窓際にはひなげしの花が植えられていた。修行僧の最高位を目指すグシラさんの修行は一生続く。
